We may use and disclose PHI for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations.
We may use PHI or disclose it to physicians, psychiatrists, licensed therapists, case managers, and other healthcare providers involved in your care.
Example: our staff psychiatrist may discuss medication management with your primary care physician to avoid adverse drug interactions.
We may use and disclose PHI to obtain payment for services, including billing, claims management, and medical necessity reviews by your insurance plan.

Psychotherapy notes are separate notes recorded by a mental health professional documenting or analyzing the contents of a counseling session. HIPAA gives these notes heightened protection.
